Dr. Ali joined the faculty of Electrical Engineering in January 2010 after com-pleting his Ph.D from Brunel University, West London, UK. The title of his research was “Performance Enhan-cements in Single hop and Multi hop High Data Rate WPANs”. During his res-earch at the Wireless Net-works and Communications Centre at Brunel University, he was a part of a technical consortium that consisted of 30 partners from the European Union in a multi million Euro project called MAGNET BEYOND. He has published his research in various international journals and conferences of high repute.
He has served as the Technical Programme Committee (TPC) Member for major IEEE Communication Society conferences like ICC, WCNC and PIMRC apart from being a regular reviewer for IET Communications Journal, IEEE Communication Letters, and Journal of Communications.
Dr. Ali is serving as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, UET Peshawar. He is working as the Principle Investigator for a research project funded by Directorate of Science and Technology on Wireless Sensor Networks, and as the Joint Director for a research project funded by the ICT R & D Fund on Smart Grids in collaboration with PESCO. His research interests include Wireless Mesh and Sensor Networks, Short range Wireless Personal Communication Systems, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Future Internet, and Smart Grids.
